Kurtie sent a message to Nigel Travis, Chairman and CEO, Dunkin Brands Group Inc. that said:
Dear Mr. Travis,
Hello, our names are Kurtie and Chandler. We are freshman at UC Davis and St. Mary's College of California, respectively. We would like to pitch an idea to you, our idea is,
Caffeinated Hot Chocolate, an idea that we currently hold a provisional patent on.
We are approaching you and Dunkin' Donuts with hopes of signing a licensing deal with your firm. We believe your corporate business model is perfect for our product since it is able to be purchased by the cup in a store, or prepackaged and sold as part of your at home line. Also, we think this product would fit in perfectly with Dunkin' Donuts product line since Dunkin' Donuts is always ahead of the curve in the caffeinated drink market. Along with that it would be easy to integrate to your business all you need to do is add an outside caffeine source to your already existing hot chocolate.
We came up with this idea where, as millennials, we werenât sleeping as much as we needed to, which became an issue for us since we were not huge fans of coffees, teas, or energy drinks. So, in a move of desperation, we came up with this alternative. Caffeinated Hot Chocolate, which can be served hot or cold despite its title.
Thank you for your time, and we are hopeful that your firm will see the potential benefits that could be gained from our product and that we and can start buying cups of caffeinated hot chocolate in time for midterms and finals.
Thank you again,
Kurtie and Chandler
