Brenda sent a message to Abigail Johnson ,President and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Investments and Chairman of Fidelity Worldwide Investment email address that said:
I have most of my mutual fund money at Fidelity. I have loved the company. However, I have tried and tried unsuccessfully to get your newly implemented display of the mutual fund portfolio to include the full fund name. Printing the display of the portfolio even truncates the fund name more. I cannot see the names of my funds at Fidelity. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE allow a full fund name display, like you used to have. You also used to allow sorting by the fund name (not ticker), which is useful to me as I don't care about the ticker unless I'm trading. I used to enjoy looking at my funds every day -- now looking at my portfolio is an exercise in frustration. I know you are displaying for a cell phone display. However, please realize some of us are on a computer screen and do want to see the fund name, not a truncated version. I was a computer programmer for many years. Please implement a version either like you used to have with the two features (1) full fund name and (2) sorting allowed by fund name, or allow an option for full fund display, or allow the expanding of the fund name field by pulling the column delimiter (like Excel allows). My friends turn to me for financial advise as I love dealing with mutual funds and I can no longer wholeheartedly recommend Fidelity because of this horrible implementation. I have considered filing a report with the SEC as I think this amounts to such a loss in not being able to see what funds one is in. Please, I implore you, allow the portfolio display to be useful again.
