The word in the soccer community is that a Detroit MLS team is in the offing. If this is true, my congratulations.
As you may know I have worked to build soccer in Michigan (and the US) for almost 50 years. These efforts included founding the Detroit Express and chairing the 1994 World Cop Bid and Host Committees. I have been President of the Michigan Soccer association and as a US Soccer Foundation and Michigan Host Committee Foundation director have helped direct over $1 million to the PAL youth soccer programs. As a result of these roles I am close to Don Garber and Mark Abbott at MLS and to Sunil Gulati, President of the USSF.
My goal has always been to see MLS in Detroit. I believe I could be of great help to you in relations with the soccer community and in other ways.
I hope that we will be able to meet to see if I can be of value to you.
