Mr. Joly, I wanted to call your attention to an issue regarding the TRE algorithm – Hubert Joly email address

Gary sent a message to Hubert Joly President and CEO, Best Buy that said:

Mr. Joly, I wanted to call your attention to an issue regarding the TRE algorithm used to revoke return/exchange privileges of customers for **a full year** for returning items under $10. The TRE algorithm treats returns of $5.99/$7.99/$9.99 gift DVDs ("stocking stuffers" purchased during the Christmas season) with the same weighting as the return of an HDTV (purchased before the Superbowl, and returned a few days after it). As a result, 30 year loyal customers (like myself) are being forced to purchase our HDTVs and other major purchases elsewhere. Once banned for returning a few DVDs, we cannot risk purchasing major items without exchange privileges should they be defective. Amazon does not revoke return/exchange privileges without warning (like Best Buy). Amazon works with its customers that are returning too many items. And if the behavior is not corrected, then and only then does Amazon revoke these privileges. If you are interested in discussing further, please contact me at the above email address (or via LinkedIn).
