Damon sent a message to Dan Schulman President and CEO of PayPal Email Address that said:
In 2012, unauthorized purchases were made and the person in question used the link between my Paypal account and my financial institution tied to my PayPal to make the purchases. I realized this when I had a huge negative balance on my account at my financial institution. I had my bank stop the remaining attempts to make further transactions. They informed me that the person in question had access to my account via my PayPal account. I contacted PayPal about the situation and they told me to speak with my bank. It was a frustrating back and forth. Finally, I was reimbursed my money when PayPal credited to my account and moved to my financial institution.
Fast forward to 2016, I called PayPal because I could not access my PayPal account. I was told I would not be able to gain access unless I paid $99.98. I asked why I was being charged. I was told that PayPal credited me with too much money back in 2012 and I was supposed to leave $99.98 in the account. This was not explained to me. I was told on the same call that Paypal made the mistake. I was told on the same call that Paypal credited me with too much credit. I am not happy with your company and I am considering legal action. Your company made a mistake on two fronts, lack of security of my account and credit too much money. And now, you wish to charge me to use my account for a mistake you all made. Please resolve so that I am not forced to seek legal action. Thank you.
