Linda sent a message to Michael J. Massey Chief Executive Officer and President of PetSmart, Inc. Email Address that said:
I just returned from Petsmart in Fremont, CA
There was a rack of Simply Nourish dog treats. All were apparently regular price except for one hanger saying $2.57 which was about half off. There were two on that rack, I check to see that they both said 5 chews as described on the white label underneath that hanger. I went with my other items to checkout. I was charged 6.49 each [12.98] as i went to my car, I took a good look at the receipt. I went back in the store and asked a clerk about the item. Apparently they were on the wrong rack, should have been on the 5.99 rack next hanger. she noted me the small print, 6 point type on the package itself. I can understand one being misplaced, but two is , to me, an attempt to deceive the consumer.
I can send you the receipt, where i was billed 6.99 for even the "correct" one labeled 5.99.
But more than that, I resent paying 6.99 each [12.98]for what was on a clearly marked $2.57 item hanger.
May I suggest if a sale hanger is empty, your staff should remove the sign to prevent this unhappy occurrence.
Linda
