Lionel sent a message to Jeffrey Katzenberg – Co-Founder and CEO, DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. – Email Address that said:
Dear Mr. Katzenberg,
I am writing to you in the hopes of acquiring sponsorship and merchandise for a short romantic-comedy film entitled Roses R Red that we intend to use as a pitch for a full-feature film and to submit to short film festivals worldwide.
The short film deals with the role technology, more specifically texting, has in today's modern relationship landscape. And the misinterpretations inherit in a form of communication that does not lend itself to conveying emotion very well. Romantic relationships are missed and some relationships are even damaged because of this miscommunication.
We are currently seeking sponsorship from you in the form of $10,000. This money would be used to enter film festivals and advertising for the film. Plus, your name will be featured in a Special Thank You portion of the end credits.
I can provide a copy of the script for review upon request. We are sure you will find it to be a fun and entertaining film and will be wildly popular.
We have attached several very talented actors such as SAG award-winning actor Matthew and Jesus Jr. from season one of Breaking Bad and myself Lionel.
Matthew received a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2013 for his role in Breaking Bad’s final season. He recently starred alongside Giancarlo in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015). Matthew has a long and extensive military history that has given him unique opportunities in the film and television industry.
Jesus has a long resume in both film and television as an actor and stuntman. He starred alongside Mark in 2 Guns. He is most recognizable from season 1 and two of Breaking Bad as Tuco’s right-hand man Gonzo. He regularly does appearances at public events and schools giving speeches on topics such as the importance of education, staying off drugs and creativity.
I, Lionel, began my acting career in 1988 during high school and continued it into college. I have performed in 42 theatrical plays and musicals from 1992 to 2009 in several capacities such as actor, set designer, director and stage manager. I landed a role in a television pilot called House of the Righteous as Edward James Olmos’ son. It was never picked up, but a 10-minute version exists on YouTube. I recently starred alongside Matthew in a film called Gold (2016) as an investment lawyer named Luis.
We will be working with Leon from Spain. I worked with Mr. Villarejo in a past production entitled Merkaritz Ink. He and his production companies Prima y Vera Producciones and El Currito Is Filming will be working with us on this film. One of Prima y Vera Producciones’ past films, That Wasn’t Me (2012) was nominated for a Best Short Film Oscar in 2014 and has won two international film festival awards. We are very excited to be working with such an incredible and talented director.
Please feel free to research these credentials on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB.com) and to see other past productions, as well as, other upcoming productions.
We currently have Mikasa Sports USA as a sponsor and would like to add Jeffrey Katzenberg as one of our proud sponsors.
We look forward to receiving your reply and possibly working with you in this and future projects.
Warmest regards,
Lionel
