Brian sent a message to Michael O’Leary – CEO, Ryanair – Email Address that said:
Dear Mr O' Leary,
I am a student at UCD contacting you on behalf of the Irish Student Entrepreneurship forum. ISEF is a completely student run initiative with the aim of fostering a strong entrepreneurial culture among third level students in Ireland.
Last year there was extremely strong interest in the event among start ups and ISEF organised workshops with companies such as Facebook and WebSummit to help the start ups with issues such as marketing strategy and presentation.
50 applicants were narrowed down to 6 for a dragon's den style event in Croke Park in April, where the start ups presented to business leaders such as Bobby Kerr and Gary McGann.
My friend and I are heading ISEF this year, and similarly to previous years we are completely reliant on the goodwill of successful companies and business people to make the forum a success. We are extremely eager to push the event even further this year by attracting the most successful business people in the country to be associated with the event. So I am asking if you would have an interest in being a business leader this year. The only requirement as a business leader would be to attend the final event in April as a judge and keynote speaker. You would be a huge addition to the event and I would be extremely grateful if you considered the offer.
If you wanted to contribute more such as running a workshop with the start ups at some point during the year that would be incredible, however this is absolutely not a necessity.
If you like, you can check out the ISEF website at www.isef.ie.
If you are at all interested please contact me and we can discuss it further, and I can give you more details. Thank you!
Kindest regards,
Brian
