FRANK sent a message to Edward B. Rust, Jr. – chairman of the board and chief executive officer of State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company Email Address that said:
Dear Mr. Edward B. Rust Jr.
My name is Frank, and I have been a faithful customer of yours for over 3 years.
I am writing this email in concern of a very unfair
catch in your policy that we don't get a choice to decide on it since we do not know it exists.
I was told by my agent in January of this year that after the 3 years that is this month, I will receive a discounted rate, And for that I stayed on with state farm, ever when I was able to go to a different ins. company where I was going to receive a less expensive premium with the same benefits. I chose to stay on with your company (because My Agent has been great and and I have not had any issues with your company)
when it was time to receive my discounted rate (this month) my agent told me that she would have to check the underwriter because it was not going through. She got back to me the next day and told me that I could not get it because I USED YOUR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE even if it was to change my tier or anything else. This is a clause that is not mentioned anywhere that we can see. this is a terrible unfair catch to be penalized for using your roadside assistance that we pay for . If I would have known there was a catch in using this service I would have keeped my progressive roadside assistance for the same price or gotten aaa and you would have never known that they changed my tire or any service that was rendered to me.
I'm very disappointed with this big catch. this clause should be mentioned in the policy and or the agents should put the consumer aware that when having your Roadside Assistance and you use the service, you will be penalized for using it.
I'm sure many customers of yours that should get a discount don't get it because of this catch and they don't even know what, they just stay with you
Because of their ignorance or they just go to a different company and you lose a customer.
