I just bought a 2009 Nissan Altima. On May 13, I couldn't start my car after leaving work. I had to have it towed to Nissan dealership where I learned that the steering lock motor failed. I looked online where there were petitions and over 1000 complaints about this particular part. On learning that it would cost around a $1000 to be replaced, I called consumer affairs. A representative pretty much said it was not Nissan's problem. So my question is why haven't this issue been fully resolved? Do Nissan value their consumers? Why isn't there a recall on this particular part? Do your consumer safety matter?
