Stan sent a message to Doug McMillon – President and Chief Executive Officer of Walmart Stores, Inc. – Email Address that said:
I'm just curious sir as a 13 year employee with this company I was always told that your family came 1st....my father passed away on April 2nd. ...I got a call from my mom that they were putting him on a ventilator the Saturday before.....my family lives 6 1/2 hours away .... I explained to my manager what was going on and needed to go home he gave his ok then gave me 3 points for being gone....I came back and worked Tuesday inventory and asked for a personal leave....which was granted.... I know the new policy states you get a point for each call in ....but let meask you this if you were in my shoes would you have done it any different. ...sorry but my family comes before anything.... there should be a different policy on something like this....not only did I have to contend with the loss of my father but then I've had to come back and deal with this... I've been trying to get this fixed or an explanation sincenter April ....I doubt this will get a answer but I wanted you to at least there are some circumstances that are beyond our control and death of a loved is one of them ....
