Dear Mr. Fetting, I need your kind assistance and help please. My black clothing is fading terribly. I ALWAYS wash blacks separately in cold water with special dark clothing cold water soap (I've tried several brands including dark Woolite Dark!) and use dryer setting "low" and this dryer is too hot. I would like a new, different dryer model that does not dry so hot even on low.
I had repairman appointment from Whirlpool 4/11/2016 and he checked temperature and the thermostat on my dryer registered too high so he replaced it but there's been no change. I must hang blacks dripping wet and cannot use dryer. (I had to discard my favorite black garments...bought more...and same issue. Never ever had this problem before and have owned many dryers in same house for 45 years!!!)
History:
I searched online for help and followed all suggestions including adding salt to black wash, and also try softener, both of which I tried.
4/4/16 called Loews and they said Whirlpool issue. Also Loew's Service Mgr, Layton, had never heard of black clothes fading in dryer.
4/4/16 Called Whirlpool, Spoke with Shannon, Customer Service, who was unable to help but said to call Whirlpool Service and that did not help at all.
I need a new different model dryer that has an accurate COOL setting. Please help me.
