Kari sent a message to Julia Stewart – Chairman and CEO, DineEquity, Inc. – Email Address that said:
Dear Mrs. Julia Stewart,
This letter is being sent in regards to a very disturbing action that took place on Facebook by an employee from your store in Salem NC. The employee by the name of Katelyn Blakely, happened to witness part of a situation between another waitress by the of "Raven" and young woman, Kari Gilsdorf and her four children not being able to pay with their 3 credit cards, because of a travel advisory placed on their account since they were from out of town. Mrs. Gilsdorf told a " Joe" who was a hostess, she would be back to resolve it later. This was a 6:30 pm
At 7:00pm, Katelyn Blakely was posting pictures of Mrs. Gilsdorf all over NC, and friend requesting Mrs. Gilsdorfs friends, and telling all of Facebook that Mrs. Gilsdorf was a thief, and she knew the credit cards were not going to go thru before she went in that store, that's why she didn't get fast food. She talked about how disgusting she was to do that, and how she was a bad example to her kids. Mrs. Gilsdorf, not only went back to the store that following morning, but paid her server a 25.00 tip.
Because of these posts, Mrs. Gilsdorf, felt completely humiliated and still does. She is not sure who all saw the posts, but is certain at least 20 of her contacts did, out of the 600+ that she has. Mrs. Gilsdorf has decided to file a lawsuit. This is her attorney letting you know she will be suing for the amount of 22.5 million for public defamation of character. This is a post that can not ever be permanently deleted. Please feel free to contact her personally if you would like to settle this out of court.
