Kelsey sent a message to Michael J. Massey – Chief Executive Officer and President of PetSmart, Inc. – Email Address that said:
Mr. Massey,
I am not sure that this is the correct place to send this but believe me I will not be going away until I see something done. I have been taking my dogs to Petsmart ( ) for fun and grooming for several years now. The last 5-6 times I have been here the employees seem to be so put out that you are even there. I have been understanding as I have worked in the restaurant industry and know we all have our days. However, it has become consistent.
Today I brought my 5 year old German Shepherd and 1 year old pom mix in for a nail grooming. I was stared at until I told them what I needed.. I told them that my German Shepherd has trouble with her hips and to please be careful. The first thing the young man did was pick her up by her hips to put her on the table. She cried as I'm sure it hurt and was hiding under the table from him. I offered to help and was rudely told no.
After he finally got her on the table he was pulling her arm so hard the other direction that she was screaming. He angrily stopped, put his hands on his hips and told me to leave; mind you i hadn't gotten my tickets yet to go pay for them, someone else was working on that.
I walked by later to check and he was still pulling her around and stressing her out to the point that she pooped on herself. Instead of accepting responsibility he blamed her.
I also noticed that they were not being as gentile as they should be with other dogs there for grooming.
I have NEVER been so disgusted with the way my dogs were treated today. They were both so stressed out leaving and I have never seen them act like that. Treating me poorly is fine, but when your employees are taking whatever issues they have going on out on my dogs it becomes personal and I'm not going to let it fly anymore.
Thanks for your time,
Kelsey
