Sydney sent a message to Ben van Beurden – CEO, Royal Dutch Shell – Email Address that said:
GoodMorning, I called this morning to speak to Mr. Ben Van Beurden, about sponsorship to help renovate this theater. I was told by the receptionist to email you.
I do hope this reaches someone that could help me. Its 3AM here in The United States.
My name is Sydney Reed I am 19 Years Old from Houston, Texas.
An investment in The Candid Arts Theatre is an investment in the Jensen- Greater Houston Area. I am working tirelessly to help revitalize the Jensen Greater Houston Area and I want to keep it going. Recently the owner of the Granada Theater, a theater built in 1949 valuing around $400,000 agreed to donate the theater if I pay the fees.
The Candid Arts is a subsidiary to Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group of Aldine-Harris County. A local 501(c)3 organization !
Why do we need your help now? I am trying to finish paying the expenses to completely obtain the theatre. The appraisal which is part of the agreement plus the closing fees I must meet is $3000. Plus renovations value at least $2M. I have literally 1 more week to pay for the appraisal and closing fees.
This theater will have photography, hands on arts, music, drama, and dance for these children. It will be a centralized location for those who arent able to travel downtown for the beginning of their dreams.
I am currently looking for board members who feel they can also change the lives of this community plus help keep this ongoing.
If you email me back I can send all the photos and the proposal.
