Hi, i have recently just stayed at your hotel on the 20th and 21st of July and despite the magnificent look, the hotel has been a very dissapointing experience. The food on the first night was disgusting and suprising from a restaurant that bears Nick Nairns name in the menu.
All our 7 party had commented on how bad the food was. My prawn cocktail had a 2.50 supplemented and barely contained prawns, seabass was cold tastless and slimey. Others dishes were very cold and presented well but tastless again.
Dessert was very very basic with little taste to the panacotta and overbaked cheesecake.
Now our main complaint is the room. These were some of the hottest days in Scotland this year and on our first day we could not get the window open, we were told that the windows would not open on the ground floor due to child safety and we melted at night time and couldnt sleep.
On day two when we arrive back from the safari park, we see all other ground floor rooms with windows open, we call and they say maintenance will fix this, so we boiled all night for no reason. This is exceptionally poor service and ruined our first night.
My last gripe is that the wifi does not seem to work on 3 people ohones this far down the corridor meaning extra expense going into mobile data and another service non existant.
For the price paid and even the rounds of drinks cost at the bar i would expect much much better.
This is my second experience of a double tree hotel but first and last in this area.
