Mr. Ghosn I’m writing with respect to my Deaf Sister’s Nissan Versa Purchased in – Carlos Ghosn email address

Mr. Ghosn,
I'm writing with respect to my Deaf Sister's Nissan Versa Purchased in November 2015. She purchased a used 2012 Nissan Versa from Brown's Dulles Nissan on 11/11/2015 the mileage on the car was 57,981. The mileage as of today is 59,019 or a total of 1081 miles since she bought the car in November 2012. Now she is being told it will cost her $2500.00 for required repairs to get it drive-able again. The work that has been quoted to me is as follows: ENGINE STOP LAMP SWITCH, TROUBLE DIAGNOSTIC CODES. #235.00 ENGINE OIL CHANGE, OVERFILLED ENGINE OIL $43.43 COOLANT FLUSH, DISCOLORED AND DIRTY OVER TIME AND MILEAGE $189.95 BRAKE FLUSH, DISCOLORED AND DIRTY $189.95 INDUCTION SERVICE, CARBON BUILD-UP IN THE INTAKE AND THROTTLE BODY $189.95 IN CABIN MICROFILTER, DIRTY AND BEING POLLUTED WITH POLLEN OVER TIME/MILEAGE $99.95 REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES, 2% LIFE LEFT. $692.00 BOTH LOWER CONTROL ARMS FOR SUSPENSION, CRACKED $1170.00 TOTAL IS ROUGHLY $3200.00 AFTER TAXES. In working with the David Whalen, he was able to get it down to $2500.00 but I believe the car sold by Browns Dulles NissanI was sold a lemon as this amount of repair work tells me that the car was not fully inspected correctly as I can't believe the lower control arms are cracked with so little usage. In addition since she hasn't driven it 3000 miles yet there has been no oil added so I fail to understand how I can be told that there was too much oil! In addition one would hope that prior to selling a used vehicle that the engine coolant and Brake fluid would have been flushed prior to putting it out for sale as well! This also includes the in cabin micro-filter. The tires I understand are at 2% life remaining and my sister is willing to pay for the tires to be replaced but feel all the other work required is due to Brown's Dulles Nissan negligence. This demonstrates a total lack of integrity and disrespect for themselves and their customers!!!! Nissan prides itself on the quality of their vehicles even their used vehicles however I believe my sister's Versa did not receive the attention it should have received prior to the sale. This is totally unacceptable and Im writing to at least receive some sort of equity solution to all the problems on this car. As I stated, my sister is deaf so I have been talking to David Whalen at Browns Dulles Nissan. David is trying his best but really isnt in a position to do anymore than he has already with reducing the price to $2500.00. As i said, she is willing to pay for the tires but feel she is being taken advantage of for all the other repairs which really shouldn't be required.

In addition I contacted NISSAN USA and was told that since it wasn't a certified pre-owned car it was sold as is. This tells me they sold a car that wouldn't even last one oil change. In any event NissanUSA stated that there is nothing they can do but I believe that since Browns Dulles Nissan represents Nissan I'm sure you would agree that you dont want a dealer representing your company in an unethical manner. All I am asking is that they repair everything but the tires. We will pay for them to be replaced.

You are the last resort in hopes of honoring Nissan's commitment to safety, and integrity. I myself own 2 Nissan Altima's through Priority Nissan in Chantilly, VA and have nothing but great experience with them whereas Brown's Dulles Nissan is a dealer that doesn't stand by their product.
