Freyda sent a message to Michael L. Corbat CEO, Citigroup Inc. – email address that said:
Dear Mr. Corbat,
It is Citicards obligation to protect its cardholders from unscrupulous vendors. I have been going back and forth for 6 months with your Citicards division over a charge that I strongly feel I do not have to pay. Among other shortcomings, the vendor, Sands of Islamorada Motel, in Florida violated Chapter 509 subparagraph 221 of the Florida statutes covering Sanitary regulations for lodging establishments by not providing clean towels. This is Florida law. How can your company insist that I pay for services NOT rendered and in fact breaking the law. Our room had not been cleaned nor fresh towels provided for two days. Furthermore, it was your customer service representative, Ethelyne, who after I explained the situation, told me to leave the motel and seek the proper services elsewhere. Briefly, we were freezing cold after being at the beach and I was chilled to the bone and desperately needed to take a hot shower. I become very ill when chilled. I was sick for the rest of my vacation after I was told that" it would be at least another 3 hours or more" waiting for fresh towels! Would you put up with that? Would you want your credit card company to protect you? I had paid for a week in advance, but because of this situation we had to leave after 2 days (my fiancee paid for one day when making the reservation) and I was willing to pay for one day even though the services were not provided. I hope to hear from your office as soon as possible.
Thank you for your time and attention in this matter.
Freyda
