Sylvia sent a message to W. Craig Jelinek – President and Chief Executive Officer of Costco Wholesale Corporation email address that said:
Hello Sir,
Need your help ASAP and some concrete assistance from you!
We need a COSTCO in our area badly – Fort Washington, MD, near the National Harbor!!!!
There is only one grocery store (Giant) in a small shopping center across the street from this large/hugh vacant lot.
If this is not enough square footage, then please take a look around the area to help us have a COSTCO store.
There is a major highway – Interstate 210, which is currently being upgraded and under construction.
Sir, your COSTCO store can have a great impact in our community.
Residents love, love, love COSTCO.
Just PLEASE have your team take a look at the area - Fort Washington and Oxon Hill, MD, is a beautiful.
You built one in Alexandria, VA., on Richmond Hwy next to Walmart. Great location for VA., and this is where residents have to shop if they want to go to COSTCO.
However, we do not have a COSTCO nowhere in Maryland near the National Harbor and Bolling Air Force Base.
All residents have to travel/drive across the Wilson Bridge into Virginia from Fort Washington, MD., to get to COSTCO.
Fort Washington and Oxon Hill, MD, areas consists of The National Harbor, Tanner Outlets as well as the new MGM Grand.
Mr. Jelinek, please do not give up on us as residents and make something happen for Fort Washington, MD.
Thank you for listening, understanding, and reading my concerns. You won’t be disappointed!
Sylvia
