I closed out my non retirement joint acct Fri. 5th. Im 61 my job ended unexpectedly. Company going under , Economy. Still in preety good shape overall. But need this in checking. I and the gentlemen that handled said Four time FedEx. Its on your copy for legal. I said if you cant you could just deduct. He said nothing. The He said on tape, will sell assets Fri nt, cut check Mon FedEx MON you get Tues 9th.
Tues I sat ALL Day waiting as its a joint was going get signed by my wife of 32 years and deposit.
No check, No phone call.
I called Tues spoke to a nice fellow who figured out the check. A 40k check regular mail after mentioning all of the above. He Did give me option, with the check in the mail, and the best case by mail Thur today thru I wanted to wait i still do. I dont trust the electronic way for a check that large.
But I Did want some answers. Such as , What Happened. How come no one called Me. I have two other accts, actual retirements accts . We have other assets so were OK. So I called and requested to speak to the original gentleman from Friday.
Part of me wondered if this one of those huge companies to make more money by holding off paying as long as possible.
No phone from original gentleman.As my wife if with her sister out of town , her birthday won t be back the is this Sat night , assuming it show up by then. Will deposit Mon.
I asked to speak to a supervisor I had reservations about Staying with Fidelity based, if the cant Mail a check correctly ,Im too assume they don't same disfunction investing our money? I also asked the Supervisor was Fidelity going to reimburse me for my ten days of no interest.
The gentlemen I spoke too could have been Less interested I had the distinct feeling I was holding him up for lunch.
He said there no SET UP for a particular person to return phone to a 15 year plus customer with 3 accts. Oh really. Also NO Answer regarding my interest request.
So I told that was going be preety busy for about a month and Then I was going to find a place to replace Fidelity on the Other two accts.
