Ron sent a message to Greg D. Carmichael – Chief Executive Officer of Fifth Third Bancorp – Email Address that said:
Dear Mr Carmichael,
My name is Ron .my wife Carol and I
have been fifth third customers for 16 years ever
since fifth third bought Old Kent bank in our area.
For the most part our interactions have basically
been depositing money in checking and savings,
writing checks for bills etc.
Recently,I had a conversation with one of your team
members in a St Charles Ill branch by where we live.
I was asked as a long time customer how I liked fifth
third.I told her all the folks are usually very nice, and
professional, but my wife and I did have one issue kind of eating at us. It seems everytime we needed
something such as a car loan,or refinance on the house,we ended up having to get serviced somewhere else. Here are a few examples,we tried
for car loans in 2005 and 2006..I dont recall the reason it didnt work out at fifth third, but 2 neighboring banks in our town that we didnt have accounts at were happy to provide the funding we
needed. This was Citizens Bank in St Charles, and American Eagle Bank in South Elgin Illinois. Both of these cars have been paid in full for a few years now. I drive a 2005 Saturn with 202,000 miles on it.
The other example was when we sat down with the fifth Third mortgage guy to refinance again no luck, but we succeeded again refinancing through our mortgage company Nationstar.
Anyhow your team member apologized and suggested we try again with a fifth third loan
expert. We are looking to try to payoff some high
interest credit cards, and I was hoping since we had
not had much luck in the past that I would be able
to appeal to someone higher up! We have a second
mortgage with Nationstar so taking money out of the house is out of the question.
I am 58 years old an I.T. professional of over 30 years who works for a major US Company. My wife
works as an office manager in town for a Doctor.
We also have Parent Plus loan debt from helping to
put our two daughters through college.
If we could get some of that higher interest credit cards off the books I would greatly appreciate it.
This would free up money to be able to whittle away
at the student loans.
If there is any way you or someone in your office
can help us out with some kind of debt consolidation at a lower interest rate we as long
time customers would be extremely greatful.
I almost have my fifth third credit card paid off,it is now under $800.00
Thank you for taking the time, and I hope you can help us out.
Sincerely,
Ron
