Joanne sent a message to Lee Shau-kee Chairman and Managing Director, Henderson Land Development Co. Ltd. – email address that said:
Dear Lee Shau-kee,
I'm writing to you from Australia to ask for a miracle and ask for you to consider buying our home in Gladstone (Queensland) Australia. We are an average Australian family who saved all their money to buy a house and make it a home as a family. It is not a mansion, but a new 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home, with a low maintenance yard situated in the newest Estate of Gladstone (Forest Springs Estate). I believe if I don't do everything I can to ask for help then I am not trying hard enough for my family. My family is everything to me and we are struggling to be able to provide a future for my kids they deserve.
My husband and I have 2 boys 2.5yrs and 10 month and a baby due January 2017 which we are ever so great full of.
My husband worked on the Bechtel Gas Plant as a pipe welder in Gladstone and once the work finished we were forced to move 3,000km away to Darwin to work in the Northern Territory on another Gas plant to make enough money to just pay iterest on our mortgage. Once this job finishes we will be faced with the struggle again of moving to find work without an income. He works 6 days/week, 12hrs a day and we feel like our kids future is slipping through our hands. We do not want fancy things. I grew up with no money and saved every dollar which went to our home in Gladstone in the hope one day my children would have a life full of choices but we are loosing the battle and the battle of spending time as a family. Whilst owning our home we have lived in Queensland, South Australia and Northern Territory chasing work to survive.
No words can even describe the gratitude will feel if you are able to hear our story and I believe in miracles and great acts of kindness even if you have to look for them in places you could never dream of.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Please contact me by email to show a glimpse of hope that you have received my letter.
Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Joanne
