David sent a message to Michael D. White, President, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer DIRECTV, Inc. – email address that said:
I am writing this to you as a last chance effort to rectify a situation which has gone seriously sideways. I have been a loyal customer for many, many years but have become increasingly frustrated with your companies policies and customer relations. I live 68 miles South of Memphis, TN, 50 miles West of Greenwood, MS but can not receive those "local" stations. Instead my local stations are WTVA Ch 9 in Tupelo, MS- 100 miles East of me, and WCBI Ch 4 Columbus, MS-- 125 miles East of me! As you well know your company is currently in negotiations for a new contract with WTVA while those stations have been blocked. Therefore I can not watch the Olympics or any ABC or NBC programming. Even though my neighbor who lives just a few miles from me can get those Memphis stations and Greenwood stations. Obviously I am west of the dividing line. Your company has a webpage posted --- Directv Promise-- which says that I can request a Distant Network Alternate Channel which will enable me to at least watch ABC NBC programming. However after failing to do this over the phone for over a week and after countless calls, agents , technicians, hangups, dropped calls, etc I am asking you for help please. Sir I live in a very rural area, can barely get internet at times and can not use any antenna to receive "local" stations. Not only is this a dangerous situation which jeopardizes the safety of my family when I can not watch the local weather radar; North Mississippi is highly prone to tornado's, it is just not fair. Can you please help me? David I know full well you will never read this nor ever answer me, at least I have asked. Thank you
