William sent a message to Ronald L. Sargent – Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Staples, Inc. – Email Address that said:
Purchased Dell Inspiron computer from Staples in Port Charlotte Florida on 5th May 2016. Power adapter has failed and computer will not charge.
Called Dell Tech service and informed me that the machine with the Serial Number and Express Maintenance code tag on my computer was never delivered to Staples. Claim that machine was ordered by Staples but order was then cancelled and machine never delivered. Dell employee Vikas claims not original Dell machine!!! and as a result refused to provide substitute power adapter. Advised me to call Staples to get Staples to rectify. In addition stated that Dell would be willing to discuss with Staples the issue.
Contacted Staples Corporate and spoke to Angela who initially refused to do anything but suggested I leave voice mail with their legal dept. Called Angela back and asked if she would contact Dell offered number and name. She refused to do so claiming how did she know it was really Dell.
Informed Angela I would now inform the State Attorney of this issue.
What is going on is Staples selling Dell knockoffs? Is Dell shirking their responsibility? Is Dell accusing Staples of mismanagement?
In the meantime I have a laptop that can only function as a desktop!!
Shame on Dell and Staples, Customer Service non-existent in either organization.
Should you wish to call me
