Bente sent a message to Michael O’Leary – CEO, Ryanair – Email Address that said:
Hi Michael (or do they call you Mick?)
I am so sorry that you have taken your business out of Rygge Airport. They say that the people in the Moss area has now lost 5.000 places of work - but actually it's 5.002, because we are in the next county and we are not counted.
I say between, Ryanair, Rygge Airport and the Smoking Law, we have had more fun than you can believe. Ryanair, because it's cheap, Rygge because it\s close and the Smoking Law, because then we always meet super people in the smokers' area.
However, thanks to the two fat ladies (or that's is an exaggeration - they are no ladies) who rules Norway at the moment, and who decided to put a 10 Euro tax on all passengers flying out of Rygge, you decided to pull out - and good of you for that, I am sure you meant well. However, 10 Euros is practically NOTHING for Norwegians, and we would have taken it with straight arms. If you want to park in Rygge Airport for one day, it will cost you twice as much, so most of us did not mind at all, really, that the prices of our flights became a bit more expensive.
A Ryanar flight to London and Dublin has - since you came to Norway - normally been cheaper than the train from Oslo to Rygge. I have cut my hair in London for years now, thanks to you - and it has been cheaper than cutting it here.
Also, about the time you started, we too started. Having a cool glamping place, and we had customers from all over Europe all the time. I think because we actually offered a failry good priced place next to Rygge Airport, where we actually picked people up. We do this through Airbnb, and I think right now, we are the people with most positive references in all of Norway. But for the first time in nine years, we have no customers in September...because you guys are gone.
I know some private people are trying to get Rygge up and going again, and I hope they do, and if they do, I hope you will be the first on the place - seriously, how many pubs in the word has been named after you - the one in Rygge is LOL.
I would LOVE to talk to you.
Fortunately, we did manage to go to Ireland three times before you shut down, for which I am very happy. I had no idea that there were people as similar to us elsewhere in Europe - well, you Irish are very proud to have Norwegian genes, and when I speak English everybody - even the Irish, - think I come from Galway (they actually think so in Galway too), which is probably because you guys have been seaking English with Norwegian accent for 1000 years.
Why do you want to stop that - we are soul mate peoples?
Well, because of our big succes with our old car wrecks and campers, we have been called the Car Wreck Hotel and we have become so famous that we have been in 5 TV series, at the moment on the Norwgian Goggle Box.
Well, two fat laides are not going to be here for ever, so I hope to welcome you back again when the Labour again takes over. And seriously, for 10 Euros you can hardly get a beer in Norway - and most defenitely in your name pub LOL.
All my love, Mick and I hope to see you back here - VERY soon.
Bente
