Mrs Major sent a message to Carlos Ghosn President and CEO, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. – email address that said:
Dear Mr Ghosn,
I am going to keep this very brief because I do not know how many words I can use on this message
We have always had Nissan/Datsun vehicles. My husband and I previously ran a large farm and had the 4x4s to help us run our business. We had 2 Nissan Patrols, the last one was R115 JFM, a lovely vehicle. My husband upgraded to a Pathfinder which he currently still has, YT56 VTE. Whilst having no problems whatsoever with the previous vehicles this Pathfinder has caused us (and me in particluar) no end of trouble and worry . The clutch went, which cost £1000 and other problems each year, then last year it needed £2000 worth of work done on it to the engine. Its been terrible. Its only done about 68,000 miles. We have not been put off Nissans and believe this was just a batch of bad luck with this particular car. The Nissan Navara is still the nicest truck on the market and I would so love my husband to have one but our situation is this. Whilst we were running the farm we could afford to purchase vehicles but due to having bad lung cancer ( he is a a non smoker) We had to pack our work and life up and retire at 52. I We currently have no income comming in except what small bit of money I make and my husband would like to start up his own little machinery business dealing in purchasing used farm implements from sales and selling them on. We were only on a rented farm so had no capital when we sold the farm and very little money left over, but we do have a nice trailer we kept so that is half the problem solved. The problem is we cannot afford to purchase a new truck to pull it with and I do not want not to take out some contract on a new vehicle and pay each month without regular work and money guranteed so it is a vicious circle for him. He has no towing vehicle so cannot do his work and because he has no work we cannot afford the vehicle he needs. I am asking you if you would be so kind as to perhaps help me out with one of your fantastic trucks. I know it is a big request but it would make my husbands life so much better and a wonderful surprise for him. After what he has been through he really deserves something nice.Im not sending this as a strong begging letter, Im only tring to explain our situation and what has caused it. My husband feels worthless with no job and useless. He is depressed. It would be so wonderful. He has been through a lot of worry with this Pathfinder and cost, money we didnt have sometimes and if you could help out in some way I would be so grateful. It would enable him to work and bring some money in and it would be so nice for him after everything he has been through and the worry. He is good man.
Is there any way at all you could treat him to one of you lovely new trucks. It probably isnt a big deal to a man in your position and standing but I cannot tell you what this would mean to my husband.
If its no then Im sorry to have asked and wasted your time, but if I didnt ask then I would never know. I love my husband and want to see the sparkle return, to make him feel he has a motive in life. He needs to do this work but I need your help.
Please treat him to a truck, just a basic one would be fantastic. it would mean so much, more than you could ever know. I could never afford to get him one.
If it is no please let me know anyway, and Im thanking you for even reading this.
Mrs Major x
