Donald sent a message to Brian C. Cornell Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Target Corporation – email address that said:
Good evening Brian,
I finished talking to your fraud department and was not satisfied with the result, so I thought I would contact you directly.
I was told just ignore the flyer I received in the mail today at my home address, but addressed to individuals who have never lived here. It was explained this is a promotion.
What I find disconcerting, is that I had to spend 30 minutes on the phone with Target, being transferred three times before being told, not to worry this is not identity theft from 2 years ago when we shopped at Target with our credit card.
I am not sure who in the marketing department thought it was a good idea to put stranger's names on our address, but I hope you agree in the age of identity theft, that this will only create concern and a backlog of calls for your customer service department.
Please do not send anything to me again, unless it is addressed correctly.
Best regards,
Don
