Dear Mr. Fields, An 82 year old man has the 2013 Ford Escape with less – Mark Fields email address

Shannon  sent a message to Mark Fields – President and Chief Executive Officer of Ford Motor Company email address that said:

Dear Mr. Fields,

An 82 year old man has the 2013 Ford Escape with less than 16,000 miles inherited from his wife of 61 years who passed away suddenly in April. While driving this car to Dallas and Allen from Greenville, Texas or running errands in town, the car starts sputtering and lunging and will not move forward and an error message comes up that says “engine fault…..service now” (he has a picture of it if you need to see it) In order to be able to drive the car again he has to put it in Park and restart the car and put it in Drive again. This is VERY dangerous for anyone let alone an 82 year old man!!!

He has taken the car to the dealership in Greenville, owned by Chance Donahue. They gave him a loaner each of the 3 times it was in their care a week at a time, and each time it came back doing the same thing over and over. However, this last time they said since they cannot reproduce the error message that there is nothing they can do. He needs to “just deal with it!”

He has been told the regional manager will contact him but as of last night no such contact has been made.

We are VERY concerned about our father/grandfather/great grandfather! We do not want him to die because of this car!! He is a good driver with a severely disabled car!

If no one in your organization can fix this car what could be the solution? We have an idea. Do you?

Respectfully,

Shannon
