John sent a message to Glen F. Post, III President and CEO, CenturyLink, Inc. – email address that said:
Mr. Post,
I am writing you because I am extremely dissatisfied with the customer service your Front Royal VA. location provides. Your national 800 numbers are just as bad, I was on hold for over 30 mins just to be hung up on with no response.
This all started on 9-9-16 when I closed in my home and called to set up phone and Internet service the rep on the phone was pleasant but did not know what they were doing by not adding me to the account along with my wife and by putting the account in under her maiden name. Small things that could be fixed but that is just the beginning. We were told that it would take 1 week for service to be activated which we were fine with so we planned our move around that time frame. Both myself and my wife use Internet for our work and it is vital that we have it for day to day operations. We now have a big problem because apparently the rep my wife spoke to told us that we were good to go by the 16th when our modem arrived, well that day has come and go and we do not have service. We were told that there isn't enough internet in our area and it could take weeks to get this fixed. This is unacceptable you shouldn't promise a customer something and not be able to provide it. This would not have been a problem if someone from your communication company communicated to us the situation before we moved into the house. I would like to know what your company is going to do about this, I know you best business practice isnt to call a customer the day before their service is scheduled to be connected to inform them it was going to be weeks before they got service. They had 5 days from the time we called to reach out to us and inform us of what was going on and did not. Century link is the only service provider in our area so I'm not understanding why we have to wait until possibly Oct 1st to have our service connected. I expect to hear back from someone before Monday 9-19 in regards to this.
Thanks
John
