Good morning,

Hello, my name is T'Keyah . I work for the Pizza Hut in Fort Valley, Ga. I have no complaints about my job. I love my job actually. I started this summer I quickly learned everything. I've grown amazing relationships with my coworkers customers. I prefer working in fast food because I've always had a knack for preparing food, but furthermore, it's because I love making people happy having face to face contact with customers. I was hired in the middle of the summer as a driver, but me being me, I also shadowed others they taught me their jobs. I like to do everything; make pizzas, work wing street the cut table, work the register, answer the phones, take orders, serve dine ins, deliver pizzas! I've even been the head cook for a shift. But my problem arises with the tips how they are taken out of my check. It doesn't make any sense. Last pay period I worked 50 hours. My pay came to about $427 before taxes before my tips got taken out of my check. I ended up with around $266, I'm not sure. But come on, 50 hours and only $266??? Countless times I come in WHENEVER they call me. I stay help whenever I can. I go up and beyond for Pizza Hut, and then to be ripped off by them? That's disheartening. Those very "tips" yall take out is money customers gave to ME because of MY excellent service experience with them!!! NOT Pizza Hut. I am driving MY vehicle at my will to deliver pizzas. Yes, yall do give us the gas money. I guess that's where the delivery charge goes. But since I am driving my vehicle that does require oil changes. That does require tune ups repairs. And that does require regular maintenance, I would think that I would at least be able to keep MY tips! A total that's taken out of MY WAGES. Actual time that I spent working on the clock at Pizza Hut is A WASTE because you take away that same money that was handed to me for my service. One has nothing to do with the other. Tips are tips! Wage hours are just that! Time that I spent working that I should get paid for. How does that make senses? I need answers. Because common sense tells you the more hours you work, the more tips you'll probably make. Tips are a reward for your hard work! Tips aren't supposed to be taken out of the TIME you put in. I love my job so much, but I am furious. When you hear how many hours you get, and how much your check should range, you start planning things in your head. Ok, give your mom $100 to began paying her what you owe her. Pay your sister's $70 bill since she's between jobs and can't pay it right now. Hmm, your friend loaned you $40 just so you could go out enjoy yourself for your birthday. Oh yeah, andddd you're thousands of dollars in debt you think "Yay! I can at least put $25 on each of my bills" WRONG! When I got my check I literally cried to my mom. I was so hurt cause I had put in SO much work, only to be conned by the same company I was working so hard for. $81 of my hard earned tips, snatched right back from me at the end zone of the day. It's like I didn't even make it in the first place. It's hard living paycheck to paycheck, but it's even harder to swallow the fact that tips are taken out of my hard earned, HARD earned wages. I'm a struggling college student, living on my own, in debt, in need this is so hard. Fort Valley's a small town I have a well-known, bubbly personality. Plus I love my job, so hey! Why not spread my service to Pizza Hut through the city? This is the perfect job for me. So why am I not feeling satisfied with my pay? I would love to speak to someone about this. If you feel this isn't a issue you can respond to, can you forward it to someone who can? Thank you! God bless you.
