Hello Mr. Bob Sasser, I truly hope this message reaches you. I am a former dollar general employee who was looking for a great company to grow with and advance with. I am very passionate about retail and sales and love very much what I do. I had received the opportunity to work for your company in Las Vegas Nevada, I trained with Mr Peachy in California and was on my way to learning all the necessary skills I needed to run a successful store for you and our customers. During my training I witnessed alot of unfairness towards some employees. I had heard very good things about dollartree from friends who also left dollar general in hopes of finding a great company to work for. I witnessed employees walk out and employees get belittled. I thought maybe something had led up to those situations so I minded my business and the trainer aside from her strong personality was training me very well. We be countered situations where for 2 weeks I was not able to log into my Ilearns and watch the necessary training videos, when we called for help we could not receive any from anyone so it was very difficult to train me during the first 2 weeks. I am a very fast learner since I have a passion for this kind of stuff it was easy once I had access. I left training in district 441 and went on to my district at 445 I thought everything was going great until the following day when I found out I apperantley had started a rumor which was completely false everyone but me knew it until it was brought to my attention. I ignored it until it happened again. I contacted my Dm and informed her in tears that I did not know why this was happening or why my name was being used she told me she was aware of who it was and she would nip it and stop it and for me to continue to do the great job I was. I was very fond of both sides regardless of the things I witnessed at district 441. I then received news that I was being sent to a red flag store that needed help while being there I recruited and I promoted the job fare for the store I would be opening up on October 13. The very next day before the hiring event I was given news that I would no longer be the new store manager for that store and that I would be transferring to district 441. I cried it was very sad to me but I understood the company has to do what's best for the company and the rapid growth it currently is going through. So I went to the other side I spoke to the DM and explained I'd be off the next day Thursday and he was completely fine. I had a very productive day at the store I was placed in getting 4 u boats of Halloween out, condensing the seasonal Halloween and helping out our customers while training a new employee. 5 min before the end of my shift the DM calls me to tell me there where changes and due to the store that I was placed in being understaffed I would not take anothe day off until the following week and I would be working 2 open to close shifts. I informed him my son had just had surgery the previous months and I had set up his follow up according to my days off so that I would not have it interfere with my work. He stated it was not his issue he's canceled many of doctor appointments and I needed to do the same I explained it was 5pm I would have to call his doctor and try to reschedule since it was a specialist I was not sure when they would be able to see him again. He said he did not have time for all that and that I needed to hang up and figure it out within the next couple of minutes and get back to him immediatley. I felt so upset and did not know what else to do. I ended my shift and left home trying to call the doctors office but because it was such late notice they where gone for the day. I decided maybe I needed to resign, I have no family here or babysitter it's just my husband and I and I did not want to let the company down. I texted the DM and explained the situation he was putting me in would not allow me to make any changes to my plans. I am a very dependable and hardworking person and felt very very bad that I could not work the schedule he was now giving me and that I would rather resign than fail him. I did not want to loose my Job I spoke to Richard the regional manager and he stated he could not have me come back he was accepting my resignation and that was all. I was one of dollar generals best managers. I was placed in red flag stores that had high theft, low sales and where a complete reck and 3 times I brought the stores from 8 to 10% shrinkage down to 1.5 and 2.3 percentage. I had all stores fully stocked, merchandise met deadlines and had a full trained staff who worked just as hard as me. My dedication and devotion to my work helped me have 3 successful stores and although I would be moved around plenty, I always put the same effort and dedication. I am asking for the opportunity to come back and given a chance to show you guys the great employee and asset to your company that I know I am. I LOVE DOLLARTREE and what it stands for, I was proud to have gotten the opportunity to work for such a great company and I feel it was just taken from me for wrong reasons. Please give me a chance to show you the great success I can bring to your company.
