Jessica sent a message to Kevin Mansell – Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Kohl’s Corporation – Email Address that said:
Hello. My name is Jessica and I have been a Kohl's charge customer for a long time now. I had an incident happen to me while shopping at my regular store which is in Chicago Ridge, IL (attached to a mall) I was there on Thursday evening and made a purchase then went to put that purchase in the car and came back in with my daughter. I decided I forgot something when I made the first purchase and I put three shirts on my baby stroller and walked around for a bit. then proceeded out the mall doors forgetting I had those shirts on the stroller well then I was approached by mall security and an apparent security person from kohl's and he grabbed the shirts and told me to follow him. He took me to an office and I apologized and said I completely forgot they were there meanwhile he searched my purse and was raising his voice to ask if my daughter was sitting on anything else as if I was a common criminal. He then proceeds to tell me he was going to take me picture and I wouldn't be allowed to set foot and an Kohl's in the United States. I am astonished at this act as I said it was a complete accident and I spend a lot of money at Kohl's from baby clothes to my own clothes and my husband's and housewares. I cannot believe the way I was treated and the man did not even give me the chance to pay for the items and apologize. I would like to please be allowed to shop at Kohl's again and I would also like an apology from the store manager and/or the security person who was extremely rude to me and my daughter. I hope this is not how Kohl's is going to continue running their business but I understand the severity of stealing and it was not my intention at all. Please forgive me and please allow me to continue using my MVC Kohl's card to shop in stores. I probably will not ever shop in this particular store ever again because of this unbelievable approach, but I would like to be able to go to other Kohl's stores in my area. Thank you Very much. And I surely hope I hear something from someone in regards to this.
