Barbara sent a message to James J. Murren – Chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts International – Email Address that said:
Hello Jim,
This is a blast from the past as we worked together at CJL years ago. At that time I was in the International Dept. covering Japanese clients and backing up Klaus Hedbabny. Later I was hired as Sr. VP at Lehman Bros. where I ran the Japan desk with a team in NYC and Tokyo.
When Ed and Nancy first opened ISI, Ed contacted me and I spent the next 10 years working there covering the Asia/Pac Rim region. Several trips a year meeting with top institutional investors and developing business in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan and Hawaii made for an incredibly rewarding career.
I have such fond memories of CJL and still remember what a talented and dedicated analyst you were. It's wonderful to see the interesting route your career took and follow the latest on CNBC when you appear as guest.
Now that I'm retired (my husband Bob Ince also retired from Wall St. buy side and now has his own Financial Planning firm in NYC), I have time to dabble a bit at the Borgata and we've visited there several times over the last couple of years.
So the recent MGM news got my attention and hence the reflection on the old CJL days!
We just got back from a three night stay Oct. 10-13 and will be back for Restaurant Week Nov. 2-4. We love the Borgata!
We'd like to congratulate you on this acquisition and wish you every success. I only play the slots a little but now I have an MGM gold membership and my brand new Borgata black card as of this week!
I can also personally attest to playing (too much) on the new World of Willie so kudos for gaining exclusivity to that machine! Have never seen that before and it created quite a buzz. Along with the Biergarten, new pool and Premier Night Club, lots of exciting developments in AC!
We're wondering if you will be having any event to celebrate adding Borgata to the MGM family? Also since my father lives in western MA, I am following the news on your Springfield, MA casino. It would be a pleasure to shake your hand in person!
Jim, just wanted to connect though its been decades to congratulate you and wish you continued success!
All the best,
Barbara
