Late payment removal request regarding account
Dear Executive Officer of Citi:
I have been a customer of CitiMortgage for approximately three years and couldn’t be happier with my decision to join the CitiMortgage Family.
Unfortunately, in June and July of 2016 it was a miscommunication between my bank Municipal Credit Union and CitiMortgage regarding my monthly mortgage payment and Municipal Credit union did not release funds to CitiMortgage, Which I provided proof and faxed my bank statements which shows Citi taking funds for the month of July. How ever it was reflected on my credit report as a late payment. I thoroughly investigated this issue for the e last three months and was corresponding with a Executive Complaint Unit representative by the name of Debra Wade she explained that she could not amend the late’s from my credit report although it was of no fault of this writer. I am currently trying to get a new position at my current place of employment in the investigation unit. They check your credit as a part of the vetting process. I am asking that you please investigate this matter and consider changing your decision not to remove this error. Enclosed you will find a copy of my bank statement where you can see that the funds were released in July to CitiMortgage. I am young in my career and I have been trying to improve my financial relationship and in maintaining a clear record for 2016. The Check was submitted on the 16th day of May and did not come back as unpaid to the end of June therefore stealing my opportunity to pay the bill before it was considered late. I have had some setbacks with this account, however I was on a promising path to financial redemption. It was an exceptionally busy time and my life as I was balancing my first child while taking night classes to fulfill one of my long standing career goals in my present field and working full time as a single mother.
Now that I have found a prosperous balance in my life I honestly cannot associate with the person that let this payment obligation go unattended to. I fully respect my obligations with CitiMortgage and have worked diligently to amend my relationship with you by regaining your trust. A brief look at my account will reveal I have successfully made 8 on time payments since this misunderstanding.
Recently, I have begun search for a more suitable, position it has come to my attention that my late payment(s) with CitiMortgage may negatively affect my chances of obtaining a promotion in the future. As you may know, FICO scores are being used more and more in the selection of prospective job applicants. To be honest, that year was a “wake-up” call for me regarding fiscal organization. Since then I believe I have learned the essential organizational and financial management principles I desperately needed at this point. I currently owe 12,819 dollars which will be paid off by December and in the future I will be looking to expand my family and hoping CitiMortgage can grow with me and my family.
In light of my renewed focus and demonstrated commitment to rebuilding my trust with your company, I am requesting that you give me a second chance at a positive credit rating by revising the late payment(s) as reported on my three major credit bureau files (Experian, Transunion, and Equifax). Also in removing the “in dispute” comment off as well. I sincerely hope CitiMortgage believes in their customers and I humbly request your consideration to allow me to pursue the career of my dreams. I sincerely hope that there is redemption , and I beg you for such consideration. Please let me know if any additional documentation would assist in reaching a positive outcome, and I thank you again for the time you have spent reading this letter.I appreciate your time and look forward to receiving a favorable decision from your department soon.
Regards,
Talisa
