Kris sent a message to David V. Auld – President and Chief Executive Officer of D.R. Horton Inc. – Email Address that said:
Dear Mr. Auld, my husband and I are building a home in the arbormere community in huntersville, NC, and we are very disappointed. This was going to be the house we are going to retire in, but the appraisal that the dr Horton mortgage company arranged for came back at 16,000 dollars LESS than we are paying! How is that good business? We have been trying to negotiate with our salesperson, Cameron, and are just being strung along. We are beside ourselves. Everyone we have talked to are appalled to hear this. Even our realtor put it out on the realtor site to question how best to handle this, and hardly had any responses, because no one has really heard of this before. I have contemplated calling the better business bureau to see if this is common practice for builders! We just found this out at the end of last week, so we have just been spinning. We have waited so long ( 5 and 1/2 months) to get into this house, and the water still isn't there! The way everything has been handled here is just bizarre! It may be worth your while to investigate how things are being handled down here. Any help or insight you may have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
