Hello Mr Fields
My name is Wayne and I purchased a 2012 Ford Fiesta for my daughter to use when she got into college. In all honesty I have been a Toyota guy most of my life. When we first went shopping for a car to buy we started looking at Corollas, my unions buddies were breaking my chops about buying American so we started looking at Fords which I think are the best american made vehicles. She saw this red Fiesta and fell in love with it, she told me that was the car she wanted me to buy for her to use. Being a dad I felt proud that I could help her with this and we went ahead and purchased the Ford Fiesta. Over the past 4 years we have had nothing but transmission issues one after another. Two days ago while she was driving, she got another warning light indicating transmission malfunction and brought the car to the closest dealership, they told her they would check it out and call her when they figured it out. They called her later to tell her it was a defective transmission module and they would need to replace it, they told her the car was unsafe to drive and they would let her know the next day when the part would be in. Today they told her the part would not be available for at least one month. I asked the dealership if because the transmission issues are still being covered under warranty by Ford if they would provide a rental for her to use and they told me they didn't have anything available and I should either call the dealership we bought the car from or Ford Customer Care. I talked to Ford C C and they told me that at this time there was nothing they could do and to wait till tomorrow to see when the replacement part would be available, we called the dealership today and they said the part would not be available for a least one month. I called Customer Care back to let them know that we could not be without a car for one month while a warranty issue was being repaired and could they provide a rental for her to use and they said that there was nothing they could do. We dont know what to do, This is the 4th time the car has been to the dealership for transmission repairs, and the prior repairs have taken only a day or two. Samantha just started a new job after graduating from U Mass College and with student loan payments shes barely getting by and cannot afford to rent a car for a month. Please Help
