Robert sent a message to Joseph R. Swedish – President and Chief Executive Officer of Anthem, Inc. Email Address that said:
Due to changes in the healthcare insurance market due to the ACA, I will lose my healthcare coverage effective December 1, 2016. In an effort to prevent a lapse in coverage, I signed up for a plan with Anthem Blue Cross. I filed the requisite application and was promptly charged the first months premium to my credit card. Upon careful evaluation I found that neither my physician nor my local hospital were covered on the plan that I had chosen. I have spent over 3 hours of time calling Anthem in an attempt to cancel the specific policy and have my premium refunded. I was unsuccessful in that each person contacted said they were not authorized to perform either of those two tasks! I am writing to you in the hopes that you can navigate your corporate structure better than I have been able and that you can forward this to the appropriate department. I have resorted to asking my credit card company to request refund of the premium as the effective date has not taken place.
