William sent a message to Terry J. Lundgren- Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Macys, Inc. – email address that said:
I attempted to place an order through Macy's.com on 12/2/16 and the order was duplicated. I actually saw the error as it was happening and called Macy's Customer Service to correct the problem. After being put on hold for 40 minutes, a young lady answered and listened to my problem. I told her I could see the order duplicated by Macy's in my PayPal account. She assured me everything was OK and GUARATEED me there would be no duplicate order. Well, I called to check on the transaction this
morning and was told the order was duplicated, they had been sent to warehouse, and there was nothing that could be done. I would be charged twice, receive two deliveries, and it was up to me to return one to a Macy's store. I live in Manhattan and have been shopping in the Herald Square store all my life, so I will be able to return the duplicated order.
What makes me so angry is that I caught the problem as it was happening, alerted your people, and still ended up getting the shaft. This was all so avoidable. For your convenience, here are the particulars.
I'd like to remain a Macy's customer, but I need satisfaction in this matter. I did everything in my power to avoid a problem. Thanks so much for listening and I hope your Holidays are fabulous.
