Mr. Levatich, I recently purchased a new 2017 Road Glide Ultra. I felt I had done my research and was very excited to purchase this machine. I have just retired and my wife and I made a trip to Space Coast HD to purchase this motorcycle. To say we were looking forward to this experience just doesn't convey what we felt. I have just retired and this was the machine we were going to travel on for the next year. I sold one of my bikes, I have five Harley Davidson's, from a 57 trike to a just sold 2000 Road Glide. To get to my point, I was driving this machine back to my home in Augusta Ga and with less than 4oo miles on this machine it had total engine failure. Sixty one (61) miles from home late at night I find my self stranded. Very disappointed. The HOG membership, I've been a member almost from the inception of HOG, came through and was able to arrange for a tow at significant cost to me. Space Coast HD has been good to work with and Timm's HD of Augusta has the machine at this time. My concern is that the motor may have had significant to moderate damage and I don't want a patchwork approach fix to this engine failure. At this time I'm awaiting the results of the diagnostics from Timm's HD but I don't know if I can trust this machine in the future. Especially if the top end has excessive drive train noise, which was indicated initially that it does and it's not repaired or replaced entirely. I can't begin to express my disappointment in this purchase of this new top of the line Road Glide. I'd like to know that as a company Harley Davidson is going to stand behind their product.
Thank You
Randy
