Dear Mr. Pessina, I want to comment on a Walgreens commercial that I saw tonight – Stefano Pessina email address

marilou sent a message to Stefano Pessina – Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Walgreens Boots Alliance email address that said:

Dear Mr. Pessina,
I want to comment on a Walgreens commercial that I saw tonight as I was watching MEtv between 8:00 to 8:30. This commercial is of 2 ladies on a beach and they see a sign that says "nude beach". You then see them smile mischievously, and you see their towels drop and then it shoots to a shoulder shot of both women and you see them walking out toward the water. The mental image that this commercial has conjured up is that the women are nude. I am not a prude, but I find it quite offensive that this commercial is shown on a family friendly television station that transmits such shows as "Leave it to Beaver", "Andy Griffith", "Beverly Hillbillies", and such. This channel is a channel for families with kids, a channel that should be able to be trusted will not come into our living rooms showing things that ALL families would not approve of for their children to see. I have been a very long time Walgreen's customer and this commercial has caused me to re-think if I want to stay with Walgreens. I believe if you want to show a commercial such as this, it should either be played on a different channel, or at the very least, not be shown until much later at night. As a Walgreen's customer, I feel it is my duty to let you know what we, your customers think and how we react to decisions that you make that affect our homes and our children. This, I submit to you, was not a good decision for a television commercial at 8:00 on MEtv.

Sincerely,
Marilou
