Lisa sent a message to Akio Toyoda President and CEO, Toyota Motor Corporation – email address that said:
Hello, I am been a recurring customer since the 1980's and have always purchased Toyotas. I had special ordered a Toyota SR5 pickup truck, a 4Runner and 2 different Sequoias. I currently have a 2011 Toyota Sequoia Platinum. However, within 1 1/2 years, ALL 4 locks/actuators went on every door.. First the passenger, then the door in the back, then the drivers side and the door behind the drivers side at the same time. I had spoken to the Toyota repair shop and they agreed that there must have been a fault in the locking system of this vehicle, as there is no reason for all 4 locks to stop functioning with in a year. My SUV is always garaged and I always have it maintananced at a Toyota Dealership. the cost of this repair was outrageous, especially since there obviously was some sort of fault in this particular model or vehicle. I paid close to $4,000 total to replace all 4 locks. I can see if ONE lock stopped functioning , but ALL 4 with in one and a half years, with the last 2 at the same time??? Something isn't adding up. My husband contacted someone in the corporate office to discuss this matter and he was completely dismissed and treated rather poorly. This is discouraging to hear since we have been loyal customers to Toyota for many years. I am hoping you can look into this situation and refund me for at least part of what I paid, as we have 3 other cars and never had to replace any of the locks. One includes a 1975 Corvette.I am looking to you for help.
