Dr. Indrakamhaeng sent a message to Akio Toyoda President and CEO, Toyota Motor Corporation – email address that said:
Dear Mr.Akio Toyoda
This is Dr. Indrakamhaeng from Thailand. My family used many of Toyota cars for more than 20 years. In October 2016 my Alphard 2.4G had a noise in engine and console show a warning light, we went to Toyota service in Ban Chang, Rayong. The mechanics said Nothing wrong and tune the warning light off but not record anything in the system. They said it’d just checked here before this time and everything alright. So we drive a 100 km more, the engine made louder noise and then shut down in the middle of the road, lucky that no accident happen. We drag our car to the nearest Toyota service, Chanthaburi, the engine was broken since it left un-attained. The repair cost 120,000 baht (approx. 390,000 yen) and spending more than a month.
We asked Toyota service in Ban Chang for responsibility in their bad service standard, if they check carefully before let the car out and fixed initial problem before it went big, the engine won’t broken too much. They just offered 17,000 baht (approx. 55,000 yen) for that. We said that was too little. The negotiation went long and we confirmed that was not enough. They still don’t raised a bit, then now they challenge us to go to the court and won’t pay anything at all.
Toyota Thailand didn’t do anything for us, so we ask for your attention. If it will rise Toyota service standard across the globe for your faithful customers and for the glory of your company.
Sincerely yours
Dr. Indrakamhaeng
