Richard Healey sent a message to William H. Rogers, Jr. CEO, SunTrust Banks, Inc. - email address that said:
Hi Nechelle,
Please would you immediately stop Microlabs ACH application.
To download your security software needs Firefox. It wont download with Safari. Speaking with your technical IT people this is due to IBM. Apparently your sub contractor, IBM, is allowed to dictate to your customers what software we should use. To exacerbate the issue Trusteer will not allow a bank feed to Xero our accounting package. This means that all accounting information for our US operation has to be input manually. This of course is not acceptable. What makes matters worse is that Firefox upgrades to version 3 which will not run Trusteer. It is clearly not intended for international companies.
My CFOs suggestion is to transfer our account to another bank. Having banked with Suntrust since 1989 and had superlative service from Kenny Amiss, the manager of the Charlottesville branch which handles our company accounts, I am reluctant to do this. I am also surprised that a company as strong and well respected as Suntrust allows one of its subcontractors, however large, to effectively dictate its IT policy, which as we can see impacts its customers and of course ultimately Suntrusts business.
Kind regards,
Richard Healey
