Mr. Auld. I would like to introduce myself to you as a hopeful NEW DR Horton home buyer and family member. Im a retired Veteran living in Pensacola FL. My family has been under contract to purchase a New Home at Vintage Creek Pensacola, FL Since February 2017. We signed a Contract with a 5Jun2017 Closing date. Then that date was pushed to 14Jun2017 because our previous DR Horton sales rep quit his job and the other DR Horton Sales associates couldnt access his files so a new contract was signed somewhere around mid Mar/beginning of Apr. Beginning of May my wife and I decided to extend the closing date from Jun 14 to Jul 14 because I had Work related duties out of town during the closing period. We also saw NO progress (cement foundation ONLY) and was worried about the closing time being met. Sometime around beginning of Jun we met with Local DR Horton management at the construction home. We discussed the issues and at this point just got dry wall installed and heard a lot of excuses and apologies. A month later beginning Jul we now have cabinets and the 14Jun closing date has now been pushed again to around 24Jun ( we arent sure what the true date is NO communication). I have been very patient with process but active asking questions when things in the house stay at a stand still for longer than about 10days ( which has happened VERY OFTEN). We were offered to have a fence installed for the inconvenience and missing the Jun14 closing date. The Sales Manager backtracked and said they would offer $5000 towards a $9700 fence cost. I got a few estimates between $6380-$6800 and I asked why DR Hortons fence is so much and I was told DR Horton needs to make money on this option . I dont feel our request of have a fence is out reason, seeming we have had to extend 3 closing date now 3 times have also extended storage unit rentals ($600 per month) and dog kennel fees $35 per day past 14Jun-24Jun($350). I would appreciate a response from your management with a resolution. We dont want to walk from the sale as we have already purchased many items for our expected NEW HOME. Thank you for your time.
