Hi Craig, my name is Jo Ann Wood. I live in Oakland Maine. I have a long story to tell about a product that I was handed (Silicone caulking) for a summer home improvement project, specifically clear, paintable caulking . I am a very able home owner (30+ years). Last year we removed 2 upstairs windows that never should have been put in, and replaced old clapboards as well as sills. This year we rented staging and bought caulking, primer and brushes, and started our project. after using 6 tubes of caulking, I went back for more. ... This is where my problems start. as Im standing in front of the caulking, I see a paint brush in front of the white silicone caulking that had a line through it (on the shelf), and the clear did not.. I asked why, and my answer was that you cannot paint any silicone caulking. well if that is true, we have a problem. I have talked with many store managers, 2 different insurance companies with Home Depot and corporate. I have 2 estimates, both just over $2,000. I have been offered $200 and 6 tubes of caulking. my case # is 07575109 and my case # is 20170776749. my case has been closed because I cant except $200. I was told that someone would come and look at the problem no one has..This started early July. Drew was my last point of contact in Waterville. This is the short version. I talked to the guy who sold the caulking to me, he asked which store manager that I had talked to.. (the 1st one of many) he told me that he is the manager who recommended that product ... clear-paintable. This has gone on for 6 weeks, endless hours on the phone.... PLEASE HELP! 207-465-2160
