Kenneth Wixon sent a message to Ronald L. Nelson - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Avis Budget Group, Inc. - email address that said:
I just wanted to ask if theres a time frame for legal action to be taken against me. I had a situation take place a year ago, August 2016. Where I rented a car from Fort Wayne International airport. It was late evening, and I didnt inspect the car for any damage prior to leaving the property. Drove it back to my place of residence, in Fort Wayne. Woke up to find, the rear corner on the passenger side wrecked. I immediately return the vehicle to rental location, at the airport. Unable to get ahold of the manager until three days later to explain that the car had damage prior. Although the counter associates told me all cars are inspected and serviced prior to being put back into circulation. I had explained to the manager, via email, that in this case it seemed to me that someone was covering up the damage on the car, perhaps a friend or another employee that took the car out, prior to me renting it. I let the manager know I was getting ahold of my lawyer as well as my State Farm rep. and to get back with me asap. No response from the manager, until I emailed him again. At that time, he informed me that he had the vehicle drove to the Indianapolis office to have the body work done on it. At that time, he told me not to bother him anymore through emails or in person. He told me the office in Indianapolis would pursue me for these damages. I never did hear from them. Thus, the reason for this email to you or your office, to let me know if Im obligated. Thanks for your time.
