Jeanette K Rice sent a message to Joseph R. Swedish - President and Chief Executive Officer of Anthem, Inc. Email Address that said:
Mr. Swedish:
My policy with BC/BS of Georgia was cancelled with no warning because a payment I thought Id made had not been made. (I am caring for my best friend, who is getting treatment for Stage III Pancreatic Cancer, as well as running my small business with my husband, and my mind is not fully focused.) I take full responsibility for forgetting to log in and make the payment. I am utterly baffled, however, that such a large company has no mechanism in place to auto-send an email, as Allstate does, with a gentle reminder of the oversight.
Now, I am without insurance until January. If I get ill or hit by a bus, I need to say, Im sorry, I cannot accept treatment because I have no insurance. Surely this is not the business model that Anthem intends for its clients?
I realize that you may be unaware of the little things that happen to people like me, and so the purpose of this is to bring this method of operation to your attention, hope that it is, indeed, not how you would have your company represented, and respectfully request your assistance in allowing me to bring my policy back to active status. Lack of funds was never the issue.
Sincerely,
Jeanette K Rice Jenkins
