Good morning Matt, I want to bring your attention to a grievance I have with – Matthew S Levatich email address

Roger Weeks sent a message to Matthew S. Levatich - President and Chief Executive Officer of Harley-Davidson, Inc. - Email Address that said:

Good morning Matt,

I want to bring your attention to a grievance I have with Harley Davidson in Australia. The following is a synopsis of the problem as I appreciate your time is valuable.

In March this year I purchased a new 2017 model Road King, but since that time it has been in the workshops more than it has been ridden. Being an ex-serviceman with an artificial knee, steel rods in my back and PTSD a bike is important to me to be able to get out on the open roads where I can relax.

Conversations between all parties have now developed into an unacceptable flip flop between “nothing wrong with the bike” to “major works being done to rectify the problem”. To date, I have been advised the cylinders, the pistons and the rings have been replaced, and now the cylinder heads have been machined with no guarantee that will fix the problem.

In discussions with Kevin Rendell (Sydney) I suggested that this bike needs to be replaced. In the same discussions, I was led to believe that they would authorise a loan bike until my matter was resolved; this has not eventuated.

Communication has been less than satisfactory throughout this process, and it is only when I follow up the status of the problem, do I get any response at all. Even then, my grievance, per se, is not addressed; I am simply told “something is being done”.

This is not what I would expect when purchasing a new product from a company that has been in the marketplace as long as Harley Davidson. A swift and reasonable resolution to this problem would be the immediate replacement of this bike.

Do not hesitate to contact me should any further information be required. I look forward to an early response.

Thanking you and

I remain Yours Sincerely,
