Christine Robinson sent a message to Lee Kun-Hee Chairman, Samsung email address that said:
Good Evening,
I am a long long time Samsung customer and most recently, I purchased a Samsung Washer and Dryer. The washer is one of the washers under the Recall due to the washers basically exploding and can cause damage and death. I called the Recall Center to discuss the rebate option to find out that my $700 Washer that is only 2 years old, I would only receive $346 US Dollars. I would only receive the $346 if I mailed in a receipt of a new washer bought by November 4th otherwise the amount rebated would be much less.
I dont believe this is fair to the customer who bought a washer that should last 8 years (industry standard) with a depreciation of 12.5% per year, thus my washer is at this time worth $535.94.
Ive tried to reach out to the US headquarters but they have not been helpful. I am not asking for full replacement amount, but am asking for a fair amount especially being that the washer was faulty due to manufacturing and not the customers fault.
Can you please assist me with receiving the fair amount due on my washer?
Thank you for your time.
