Mr. Mayopoulos,
I have a very serious matter going on that I pray you can help me with. I am in the process of fighting fannie mae for my home when this could be avoided if I was just offered a fair reasonable price to purchase the home. I am recently divorced and because the home was in my husband name there was nothing I could do to stop the foreclosure. It is sad because I didnt even know about the foreclosure until one of my friends saw my home in the foreclosure section of the newspaper. I have offered Fannie Mae a price, they declined I asked them could they get the home appraised and they declined. The house I am living in is not worth the selling price that this company is asking for. I cant get a loan for an over priced home so I asked that it gets appraised and go from there, but the answer was no. This home means a lot to me because of the family history. This home meant nothing to my ex husband. I know this house will not sell in my community so you rather the house just sit there instead of at least attempt working with me. This has been the hardest five years of my life and although I know this does not concern you I am desperately reaching out to you for your help. There are enough homeless people in the world please dont add me to the list without trying to help me. I often thought of Fannie mae as a company that help people obtain homes not do every thing in their power to kick them out. I even thought of getting in touch with our local tv station to explain my entire story but someone suggested that I try to get in touch with the president of the company first. This is not just a home to me it means so much more. I am begging you to help me. I would even appreciate it. The lawyer I deal with it Jeffrey OBrien from the Atlantic Law group. He is not a mean person he just has a job to do just and I respect that. I know as the CEO of this company you can help me, I am not asking for a free house I am asking for a fair asking price.
